Market cultivation
We subscribe strongly to the principle that performance is the best form of advertising. Nevertheless, we strive to pursue an active form of market cultivation that is not loud or aggressive, but has its own style and soul. The information we provide should always be honest, realistic and clear.
Marketing continued to focus on digital market cultivation.
In June 2024, we launched a new website that is not only visually and functionally state of the art, but has also significantly improved the user-friendliness as well as the modern, appealing presentation of our offers. Since then, we have been constantly working on optimising our online presence youthhostel.ch and creating appealing content. Consistent search engine optimisation and selective online campaigns also contribute to the success.
At the end of 2023, we also introduced a privacy-compliant cookie consent tool, which gives users more control over their data. At the same time, we switched to Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which is based on a new measurement method. As a result, the current figures are not directly comparable with prior years. Using the cookie consent tool in particular means that fewer users can be recorded. Nevertheless, the new data shows a high interaction rate and a higher relevance of website visits.

Media relations
Active media work and maintaining contact with journalists is an important issue for us. We regularly inform the public on exciting innovations and developments in the organisation. The 100th anniversary of the Swiss Youth Hostels and the exhibition at Burgdorf Castle Museum have made a big splash in top media, including SRF, Coop Zeitung, Blick and Annabelle. In a nutshell: The organisation was on everyone’s lips. Various individual travellers and group tours at home and abroad also ensured comprehensive reporting in the relevant media.
